There is a C API included with the MySQL Server.

The overall documentation page is:
http://www.mysql.com/documentation/m...ter/index.html

The C API page is:
http://www.mysql.com/documentation/m...Clients.html#C

MySQL++ is the C++ API for MySQL. Check out http://www.mysql.com/products/mysql++/
