how to fire mouse events programatically in 'C' code

hello all,

I am doing a project in which the mouse click event need to triggered or fired programtically on the desktop of linux .I am using 'C' language.for eg, if the mouse is at a position 100,100 .I want my program running in the background to move the pointer to some position ,say 200,200 , and fire the left button click event.. I know how to capture the mouse events using the options available in the GUI. Is there any built in functions available in 'C' or some shell commands to be used using
system(" ");

bye ....

Have a nice day
