Hi All,
i have a word document that contains some tables,i want to extract the fields of the table to a text file, how can i do that? or what is the suitable scripting language to do that?

or is there any tools that help me to do that?

OpenOffice has Python bindings, so this is probably the way to go, though not a simple way.

If this word is MS-Word then it comes with a scripting language called VBA, however if it is a one off task you may find it easier to use copy and paste...

I second graemef's opinion. Writing a VBA plugin is not a simple task.
(I learnt it the hard way on a recent project!)

So - If its just a one off task - "Copy Paste" is the way to go.
