And what does OOP have to do with (not) accessing a pixel ?

And of all the choices of places to post a question about using Visual C++, and programming graphics of any kind using Windows, why did you choose a Linux forum?

This forum (Programming) is not Linux/UNIX-specific.

I didn't mean it was against some sort of rule, I was just pointing out that if you want help with Windows-specific programming and you want it fast, I would think it would be a better idea to post in a Windows forum. (as far as getting help quick, and there being better odds that someone will be on and read your question who knows a lot about it, and can give you a lot of help (probably more than you really need), and quickly).

It's certainly not wrong to post a Windows question here as I'm sure there are many developers who (like myself) code on multiple platforms around these parts

Dougman, you really don't need to worry about OOP if you want to dip your toes into Win32 programming. There are plenty of simple win32 window examples if you search the net, which are coded in nothing but pure C and the Windows Platform SDK.

A very basic one is already available from MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb384843.aspx
For drawing functions, MSDN is also a good resource: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...8VS.85%29.aspx

I was just in the middle of about 3 things and seen this link come up
and played the odds---I did get some good info from a gentleman here!!!
I know there are better sites. Its very frustrating sometimes--some sites have about 1 guru to 50 newbies and there is a long wait.
