Help regarding file access.....

Hi all,
Is there any command or C function through which we can know that a file is being in use?

Based on this information we can decide whether we should use the file or not.

[ Note :: I m using C language in Suse Linux platform ]

Thanking u all,
With Regard
RajSun.
