Hello everyone. I have a bunch of PHP scripts I want to convert to C++, but I have a major problem: Linux. Most of my programming experience is under windows. Basically I need to modify Jpeg files and access a MySql database. I downloaded and installed the Jpeg library, but there doesnt seem to be any easy tutorial on how I an load a file, change it, etc. Can anyone show me any goot tutorials? As for the mySQL, I just need some functions that will allow me to connect to a DB and send querys and recieve results.
Trying to use C++ for your jobs is very tough. But you can use toolkits like QT or GTK+ and your job will be greatly simplified. Try googling for either GTKmm or QT.
What are you trying to do with the jpegs? Qt and GTK+ are a little overkill if this isn't a gui base application. libjpeg is probably what you need, I am looking for a tutorial or at least a little documentation on it's functions, I'll let you know when/if I find something.
