Graphics

Hi All,

I would like to learn graphics programming in linux .
I searched in google for a while and I found Qt and Gtk and other tools for developing GUIs in linux. But I don't have any idea from where to start and which tool to go for. So , any suggestions in this regard would be appreciable.

Thanks.

What kind of graphics programming do you want to do? If you want graphical user interfaces, the GTK project has a great tutorial for gtk+2.0 at http://www.gtk.org/tutorial. If you want to do graphics in the form used for games or anything similar, you probably want to look at OpenGL.

If you're interested in "computer graphics" (vs just applications that have "graphical user interfaces"), then some strong contenders also include:

OpenGL: http://www.opengl.org
SDL: http://www.libsdl.org
... or even ...
Java: http://java.sun.com
http://lwjgl.org/

Here are some other links with lots of options:
