detecting computer inactivity ...

Hello !

Does anybony knows how's the easiest (or the standard/ or the best) way (C/C++) of detecting keyboard and mouse inactivity ??? (how long them have not been touched/moved...)

ps.: I am looking for a way that do not need any GUI library, because perhaps I'll not be on a X environment ... Something like having control over the interruptions generated by them ... (if they are available)

thanks!

I think I have found the simplest way .... it's just monitoring the /proc/interrupts file ...
Are there any other simpler way ??
