compiling kedit, kdeutils

Hi,
I want to hack a little part of code in kedit, but I don't want to compile the whole code whenever I want to try it.

Is it possible to do something like in emacs?, I mean,
M-x byte compile-file, M-x load-file...)

I mean, it takes too much time to compile all the files just to try if I have done well a little change in the menu, there should be something else.
Thank you.
