C + Sybase

I am looking at writing a 'C' program that needs to communicate with a sybase database does anyone know a good site that will explain how to do this as my C is very rusty (been about 5yrs since I last did anything at all in it) and I would rather not have to make a call to another script (different language) to process all the sybase connections and updates.
