Application Error Logging mechanism in Linux
Hello,
I am new to application development on Linux. I wrote a couple of daemons that talk to each other using UDP based on events generated by applications. Sometimes, they can run into some error conditions where they need to print a message and keep going.
Do we have any Standard Error logging mechanisms on Linux that i can use? Any API that I can use to write to a Standard file, may be like a syslog?
One way is that I keep open a file and write all the messages to it. But is this the only way? Can I make the two processes write to the same file/error-infrastructure?
Thanks,
