ametuer java programmer even worse C

I am trying to perform some automated bot like tasks. In Windows I use wunautomation or macroexpress to perform the tasks. I am looking to get rid of Windows completely in my home. So the basics of my tasks are.
1. open a web page find a certain link ID on that page if it exists and click it.
2. determine which flow to use based upon the page that shows up there is 2 possibilities with over 60 random window titles.
3. click the start link and do one of the flows I will just list the harder one. If i can make the harder one work the easier one well....
4. Wait 60 seconds, determine if the word "think" is shown at a certain spot on the page, if it is click a link if not wait a little longer. Currently in windows there is some error checking for crashes of the browser, but that is it. Iterate or loop 12 times.
5. close all windows and restart. This works in my windows environment for around 6-7 hours per day unattended while I am at work.

the research I have done so far is that I may be able to use java and the robot class to do some of this, But i have never looked into python and I think that some of the better macro recorders use python so maybe I should look there?

Any suggestions and places to start would be helpful maybe an example of python or java script to open URL www.entropiapartners.com and then move the mouse to the login button and click it.

I took a look and I think it is exactly what I'm looking for at least to get rolling I may need some help as I go to learn about cron or shell scripting to launch the jar files I come up with.
Thank you for your help.

Any thoughts on gui/editor or project manager? selenium suggests IDE, IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
I realize that this is extremely opinion oriented question. I am looking for anyone's thoughts pros cons.
