Allegro and Eclipse

I'm running on Slackware 13.37 64bit on an AMD Turion X2 with AlienBob multilib and gcc multilib.

I'm also running Eclipse Ganymeade (though I had the same issue on Helois)

I can compile a program with Eclipse but when I try to include any Allegro commands, I get

g++ -L/usr/lib -o"Game" ./main.o -lalleg-4.2.2
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/4.5.2/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/liballeg-4.2.2.so when searching for -lalleg-4.2.2

/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/4.5.2/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lalleg-4.2.2

/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/4.5.2/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/libc.a when searching for -lc
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [Game] Error 1

I have included the allegro lib in the linker.

Any idea of the issue? I've tried several versions of Allegro and Eclipse. No different results. I've search and from what I can tell is there is a conflict with the multilib and gcc but I don't have any other failures that would support that determination.

Thanks in advance for any input.

change -L/usr/lib to -L/usr/lib64 and maybe add the -arch parameter

Thanks for the advise but it ended up being /usr/local/lib. After that, no problem.

Oh and I had to put the directory in the /etc/ld.so.conf file and run ldconfig command at the prompt.

Working great so far.
