Adding Java Classpaths

This is a fairly simple question: how to I add a directory to my Java classpath? I'm trying to add a directory of a jar file that has some REALLY useful classes in it.

Hello indienick,

CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/path/to/your.jar
export CLASSPATH

to make it permenant add above lines to your
~/.bashrc file to make it systemwide keep it in shared place and add above lines in /etc/profile
