[win32] C++ Compile Run Off CD

Hello,

I am trying to find a C++ compiler that will run off a CD. I want to write a little news ticker, similar to those found on the the news channels (CNN, Fox News) for the announcement system we have at my school.

We do not have any kind of programming tools installed and cannot install software (free or not) without making a whole ordeal with the administration. Since we only have a couple weeks of school left it wouldn't be worth all that, but I thought it might be helpful to the that will be working the announcements next year.

I want to write this in C++ and it would have to be a Windows compiler because the computers run Windows 2000. I was wondering if maybe there were someway to get MinGW or another C++ compiler to run off a CD, similar to Linux LiveCDs. Then I could just work on the files that are in my folder.

I tried copying an installed copy of Dev-C++ from my computer at home to a CD and using that, but it gives me an error whenever I try to compile C or C++ code. It says it "cannot exec cc1plus", I believe. It occurs when the compiler tries to run g++.exe.

This is probably a very odd problem, but if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Thanks,
Chris

Without doing any searching, I think I would just try for a Linux LiveCD (like Knoppix) that had Mingw installed on it. I don't know if there is such a cd in existence though.

A Linux LiveCD would boot and I know there are some that have compilers installed. The problem with that would be that I need to be able to write and test Win32 code.

I think looking for LiveCD with Wine installed would be quite a bit to ask for, plus I also doubt it would be very efficient to be using Wine to debug Windows programs.
