Partition recovery on OSX?

I had a 60gig hard drive as a second storage drive on a OSX 10.2 computer. A user inadvertently deleted the partition when trying to erase or reformat a floppy using disk utilities. I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure they opened disk utility and just deleted the partition by using the erase volume function in disk utilities (now the name of the drive is untitled, and has none of the 60gigs). How can I recover the data? Thanks for your replies.

TestDisk is software for recovering a partition. It is supposed to work on OSX.

A commercial solution is Stellar Phoenix Macintosh
