i haven't used linux since reformatting computer 2-3 monts ago. so what's the latest update in terms of 10.1. is it out yet or still beta? thanks.

Well "Community" 10.1 is out at the moment. However in the past the "Community" release appears almost like a release candidate before going to boxed sets.

Case in point 10 "Official" had many updates and patches applied that were not present in 10 "Community".

Though as the bugs or errors surfaced the patches/updates were made available to the CE version users as well.

Mandrakelinux 10.1 (Community) is the final developemental release. Note that this is a developemental release, and may have issues. The scenario is following the beta releases, RC-1 is released, then Community [it is something like an RC-2 release]. By releasing the final candidate to the Linux Community [E.G the Community name], Mandrakesoft hopes to eliminate as many bugs as possible resulting in the best Official relaese.

The latest stable release is still Mandrakelinux 10.0 (Official).

i wonder if 10.1 will have better luck with ati drivers. my 9700 pro just isnt happening.
