is it worth it? that depends on what your needs are... that and are the benefits of such an upgrade wort the effort of peforming the upgrade... as for how much difference? i don't use mandrake so i can't tell you that, but i would guess that newer versions have had various vulnerabilities and security holes patched and newer distributions have newer library versions when applicable (typically), but i'd do it if i were you also perhaps a newer kernel version which might have more functionality and less vulnerabilites just my
Afterall, monotony is a good thing right? And, browsing over to mandrakelinux.com and reading about 9.2 and 10.0 is just stupid, obviously there's no need to read right? It's like the poeple asking how to compile from source. It's just so much easier to post a question and ask instead of reading the INSTALL or README files right? One can actually browse this forum over the past 2 weeks and get a good idea of the official release.
So if monotony is your thing then PLEASE accept my apology, but I'm in a hurry to get this off so I can post on how to compile a kernel because I am not botherred to do some reading.
