udma won't activate in 10.1
I recently upgraded from MandrakeLinux 9.0 to 10.1 (kernel 2.4.19 to 18.104.22.168). Before upgrading /dev/hda was operating in udma2 mode. Since the upgrade I can't get it out of mdma2. Nothing else had changed.
hdparm -I /dev/hda reports *mdma2.

I've tried a clean install, also with no luck.
