toshiba laptop can't recover from suspend w/ mandriva

using mandriva 2007.1. can go to suspend ok. when try to get out, screen is just black. any solutions?

Maybe a little more info might help.
Does hitting the power button bring it up OK?
Does the hard drive spin up but no display appears?
When I go into suspend with my Dell XPS Gen2 and Debian testing, if I let it suspend before closing the lid, I have to hit the power button to bring it back up after opening the lid. If I close the lid before it goes into suspend (as it takes a few seconds after selecting this option), then it comes up properly by just opening the lid.
EDIT: When I had Mandriva 2007 on this laptop, I think I had similar issues, check the posts by aRtee and fabien.henon in this thread link below.
