USB OHIC - Computer locks when it hits this point everytime at this time. I have no USB items connected to the computer and had disabled it during install the first time but got this problem, second install I tried enableing it and still the same thing.

The computer locks at about 10% when I try just using Linux as the login from lilo.

and then it locks at this module (i guess that is what it is) when I try linux nonfb.

I need to get past this to solve my other problem that is pressing at the moment and that is my eth0 fails at bootup so I have no internet access. I am using a cable modem with a Realtek RTL8139 PCI ethernet card.

any help with be much appreciated.

I am thinking about upgrading the thing to 10 beta 2 to see if maybe that fixes some of the problems. but my question to that is, can I just DL CD1 and it install all that I need the new kernel and XFree and KDE. or do I need to DL all three and go that route.

So far (the 4 or 5 times that I have actually been able to log in) I really like what I see and am hoping that I can make the switch completely in about 6 months. (have to teach the kids how to use it first).
