hiya ive a bit of a problem here
i just bought the sims for linux distro including mandrake 8.1
but the company forgot to put in the instalation cd1? (they sending it in post)
but ive got the sims working on my girlfriens ubuntu box ( after 3 or 4 hours messing around)
anyway now im trying it on my mandriva 2007 box but getting the following error

[root@localhost john]# rpm -ivh /home/john/sims/simsdata.rpm

[root@localhost john]# rpm -ivh /home/john/sims/WineX_Sims-3.2-2.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
The_Sims >= 3.2 is needed by WineX_Sims-3.2-2.i386
[root@localhost john]# rpm -ivh /home/john/sims/The_Sims-3.2-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
WineX_Sims >= 3.2 is needed by The_Sims-3.2-1.i386
[root@localhost john]#
now this isnt making any sense to me as i got to install one to get the other to work

What if you set the directory where the sims rpms are stored as a source and tried using urpmi to install them. Urmpi should try and pick up the dependencies for you if they are available in the source tree. You can also try and include both rpms in the same rpm or urpmi install command.

i.e.

rpm -ivh WineX_Sims-3.2-2.i386.rpm The_Sims-3.2-1.i386.rpm

And with risk you could try the -nodeps command.
