About that MA111 v2, it's physically damaged I guess and I have returned it back to the retailer. I used that one with windows 2000 without a problem but, yes, I couldn't get it worked with Mandrake. I didn't really try it hard 'cause I've heard a lot of sayings on the Internet that the MA111 version 2's chip set is a bit too new or just unfriendly to linux system.
So I got myself a netgear WG311 v2 wireless network card to be with my desktop running Mandrake 10.1. I thought it was a linux friendly wireless network card, but I was wrong I guess. I spent a lot of time even with the great help of Craig's how-to article
http://www.houseofcraig.net/acx100_howto.php
I would say, it's still a myth to me that how and why my wireless network is now up and running.
I followed every step and step instructions as Craig said. And everything looks really reasonable, having the correct driver, firmware, setting up essid name, channel number, WEP keys, running the star_net script comes with the driver...
However, if I don't still play around with ifup, iwconfig, ifconfig and the GUI drakeconnect ( Manage connections ) and also shutdown the computer for several minutes and turn it on again or again and again, I just couldn't get the wireless connections connected correctly.
But that doesn't bother me now, because I have re-installed the Mandrake several times and every time I was able to bring back the wireless connection. Though I don't exactly know how, but I am confident that I can get this card work with my desktop. That satisfies me and is enough at the moment
Thanks for your help charlescpc.
Cheers
