often have in its archive some solution
and their scanmodem tool will list most compatible drivers
OK but in my experience I have found an external modem for dial up is the way to go. Hell you use an external for dsl and cable why not dialup?. I got sick and tired looking for a new driver everytime I updated kernel and or OS. I had an internal Intel winmodem that came with linux drivers and when the new 26 kernel came out I would have had to wait for a newly writen driver from Intel which took months.The externel modem works all the time with no hassle. and its faster!
In my mind the external modem is the only way to go if yoore going to use dial up.
