php under Mandriva

Hi there.

I've just installed Mandriva 2006.02 in stead of Mandrake 10.1 PowerPack+. I looks OK even though I have huge problems with it (my system crashed about 20 times in 2 days and even now (day two) i don't know why...)

Right now i'm more desperate in finding out something else, and that is... where are the php adn mySQL servers? The Install CD's don't have them :|. Can some one help me understand, please?

What version of 2006 did you install. PHP and mysql are definitely on the powerpack version of 2006, just search using rpmdrake.

Unfotunately I couldn't find the PowerPack version, so I have the simple one (within 3 CDs).

For now, I gave up on Mandriva. I'm waiting a newer version of the RC to be brought to me; mine crashes to many times.

I am not sure if you are using 2006 because there haven't been any point releases yet and even if you had the 3 cd set, php and mysql are always included. If you bought this, it could be a cd made by someone from the ftp tree.

You'll have to do a bit of searching on torrent sites or edonkey/mldonkey. I got the powerpack though my mandriva Club membership.

Sounds like that's a release candidate, not the final version which would help explain the instability. The 3-cd download edition of 2006 hasn't been released to the public yet so wait a week or two (it might even be this week) or install 2005LE. Once you've installed it goto http://easyurpmi.zarb.org and setup your software sources, you can then use menu->System->Configuration->Packaging to install software although I think PHP will be installed by default.
