Permission Denied????

I know I have been a pain with all my questions. But im pretty sure this is the last one. When I go into the terminal to install a program this is what i type/it says

[administrator@MTS administrator]$ su
Password:
[root@MTS administrator]# ./apollo-KDE-1.4-1-RH7x-Qt2x.i386.rpm
bash: ./apollo-KDE-1.4-1-RH7x-Qt2x.i386.rpm: Permission denied
[root@MTS administrator]#

I also tried entering cd /home/administrator before that

What do i do???
What won't it work???
And why does it saaay permission denied???

You are getting permission denied because the file doesn't have execute permissions. You can fix it with
Code:
chmod a+x apollo-KDE-1.4-1-RH7x-Qt2x.i386.rpm
But since its an rpm file, you aren't supposed to ./ it. Try the 'rpm' command.

Actually you are trying to install (incorrectly as veritas stated... nice moniker veritas... "the truth"...) a Red Hat RPM on a Mandrake system.

This is a no-no.

Follow the dirctions on my sig to set up your urpmi sources as indicated.

DO IT NOW!

Then

urpmi apollo
