Paying for a membership and downloading LE2005

If you are deciding to wait until the LE2005 is available for everyone, or pay the Mandrake membership and get it now, I say WAIT!
I am trying to download the DVD using, of course, the bittorrent, and it says it will take 160 hours! The speed is 6kps!!! I have a DSL capable of 3Mbps! This is ridiculous!
Really, it’s not worth paying $132.00 Dollars to deal with this bittorrent thing. Also, I thought I will have instant access to download the file, etc, nope! You need to wait until Mandrake in France gets to work, check that everything is fine with your credit card I guess, finally some hours later you get the user ID and password. In my case I was pissed because I pay with a Visa that is linked to my checking account, so the money was pulled out of my checking account instantly!

In the mean time, save your money, and some frustrations. Unless you want to contribute to the Mandrake cause.

Well, since I restarted the bittorrent thing, the download has improve a little bit, I hope will stay that way. The average is about 60kbps.

Yep, that's Mandrake. That 35 hour work week also helps. Maybe if they outsourced their support to India, they would be able to speak english and answer the phone. And maybe most people will just use Suse or Ubuntu instead.

Interesting remark from someone who is not French...
