This is an extract from my Fedora2 fstab (not sure if Mandrake is the same though)
Code:
#other stuff above
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0
/dev/hda2 /mnt/Saves ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/hdc2 /mnt/FedoraOld ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/hdc3 /mnt/Windows vfat defaults 0 0
# yet more below
The bold one is the floppy line.
All as root BTW. or su
Next you need to see if there is a directory called /mnt/floppy (again Mandrake may vary, but you get the idea)
Code:
#cd /mnt
# ls -la or some distros use the alias ll (el el) to see whats in it
After you have edited the fstab and the /mnt/floppy directory is created.
use
Code:
#mkdir /mnt/floppy if needed
#mount -t auto /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
# this mounts it once, the fstab mounts it repeatedly on reboot.
If this is too rudimentary, please excuse me, when i first began i wished i had this sort of thing said to me in answer to some of my questions.
I'd rather offer too much than not enough information :+)
BTW Lol at the if it aint broke...
I went there once... or twice
Regards
Allan
