New going to use Mandrake


im new to linux so im going to use mandrake for know i would like to know waht things i need to learn to do and plus is it really easy to connect to the internet. and stuff and what are things i should take up to learn when using mandrake.

Itīd be really useful if you could learn basic commands for deleting, moving files, etc.
Since you are using mandrake, you may also set up your urpmi sources, urpmi is a tool to download extra software either from the cds(if you have them) or from the internet. Almost all packages that you may need can be downloaded through urpmi

Regarding internet, what connection do you have? If dialup, you can use kppp which is a dialup tool(available with kde). You can easily use mandrake control centre to set up everything.

yea i can tell these forums are very frinedly. know for my internet i use a cable modem and a linksys router spped booster and speedbooster pci card. there made from cisco systems i think. but its by cable im using windows right know so i want to make the switch LOL
