Mandrake 10 Official and Tulip?

Hi

Does anyone know if the tulip modules are fixed in the official ver of MDK10.
I can't seem to get a DE450 card working under MDK10 Community, and
am wondering if I should persist when I know I am going to go with official
when the ISO's are released.

Cheers

Problem seems to be present in Official also.
Tulip drivers are not very happy.

Have tried modprobe and manually entering tulip info in
/etc/modprobe.preload

I have a heap of these cards and would like to get them working.
Bangs head on desk.

Edit with Fix for Digital DE450 Cards aka Dec chip 21041
in /etc/modules.conf
add line
alias eth0 de2104x

I also ran modprobe de2104x
and edited /etc/modprobe.preload but I don't think it was needed.

I ran drakconnect and it was listed finally.
I still get an error saying failed on startup for eth0 but it must pick it up later.

Cheers

If you don't want to see the "eth0 failed" message during start up, just don't REBOOT! Hehe, all joking aside, I have seen a few solutions to this problem, for I had the "eth0 failed" error during boot-up with 10.0 RC1/CE/Official. Don't know what will work for you but I tried them all and will list them in order of success.

1) Edit your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file

My original ifcfg-eth0:

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
ONBOOT=yes
WIRELESS_ENC_KEY=" "

Edited:

DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes

2) Edit your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file by adding: MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=yes

3) Edit your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules by adding: /sbin/modules (your_module's_name)
