a small suggestion, skip using bootmagic.

Mandrake is perfectly able to set up a dual boot system as long as windows is installed first.

I'll just add a couple things here as this appears to be your first experience with Mandrake.
As Junior said, Mandrake has all those tools available during installation. Mandrake will detect your windows partition during installation and will help you set up Lilo, by default,(grub available too), as a bootloader. Also has it's own partitioning tools. To get an idea of what all skim this website that shows you all the install screens.

This is my only point of question. Your dvd image should be one file ending with the extension (.iso). In windows you should burn it as iso image. End product you will see a whole mess of files and folders on your dvd when you look at it in windows explorer. If you see only a file with .iso on dvd in windows explorer when looking at contents of the dvd you burned, then you mistakenly burned it as a data dvd, and is not usable. Wondering what the 1kb file is you refer to.

My guess would be a nfo file.

or it's a bin/cue image, in that case you can burn that with Nero, alcohol 120%, or any other burning program that deals with Bin/Cue files.

For those that don't know.
Bin is the image, Cue is the sheet it uses to tell the burning program what to do with the bin file.
