libxv.so.1 required for skype Mandriva 2008.0

Please would someone tell me where I can download libXv.so.1 ?

I need it for Skype 1.4 under Mandriva 2008.

Many thanks,

Try this command as root 'urpmi libxv'. If that doesn't work, than try downloading from this link:
http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/mandri...08.0.i586.html

Good luck

Thanks Wildar and Knudfl for your advice. The problem was with my wife's computer at our home in Paris. I am back at our home to be in the countryside (plenty of DIY here) and looking at my computer which is also running Mandriva,0. The strange thing is that SKYPE 1.4.0.118 works on this computer yet there is no libxv.so.1 or libxv1 on my hard drive. I am at a loss to explain what is going on.

Both computers have the same version of skype installed. The only difference that I can think of is that I did a completely fresh install of Mandriva 2008.0 on my wife's computer (repartitioning etc) whereas on mine I recenty reinstalled Mandriva 2008.0 (using the ld partitions) after playing around with Mandriva 2009.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Thanks again,

Tony

Why not just reinstall "libxv1" ??

Regards
