I have Mandriva 2006 PowerPack+ x86_64, I want to set up LDAP for my authentication. I went to /etc/openldap folder, I see an ldap.config but no slapd.config. I went into the services area in Mandriva Control Center and I do not see slapd listed. I have openldap and openldap-clients installed. Where is slapd and slapd.config found? And how do I get it listed in services?
If someone can help me it would be very appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks. I still could not find the slapd. I think what I need is the openldap-servers RPM, but I cannot find it on either my 64bit or 32bit DVDs, they have openldap, openldap-clients, and openldap-doc, but no openldap-servers, very weird. So I ended up finding the openldap-servers RPM on RPMFind.net, so I installed it from there. RPMFind says it came from the media\main folder, but I can guarantee you it is not there on either of my DVDs :-(. I will see what I can do about getting LDAP working now, wish me luck.
It's because Mandriva removed some of the server packages (proftpd, openldap-server) from the PowerPack DVDs and put them only in the PowerPack+ DVDs. You can still get the whole lot by adding a main source from http://easyurpmi.zarb.org, or using RPMFind as you did.
