The win32 codec pack from PLF non-free should work okay
thanks aerogate.
what package should i be looking for
Code:
urpmi win32-codecs
returns no packages
win32-codecs-1.8-1plf2007.0
This package contains Win32 codec binaries, required for the decompression of video formats that have no open source alternative. This is in PLF for it's non-free license.
Hmm, package above was from plf sources I used four days ago when I installed. Went to use them today and they were down. Tried four other sources for plf and all down at this moment, not too impressive.
well i am having trouble with the plf nonfree source too
Code:
retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "plf-nonfree"...
ftp://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/plf/mandriva/non-free/2007.0/i586/hdlist.cz
...retrieving failed: curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404
retrieval of source hdlist (or synthesis) failed
no hdlist file found for medium "plf-nonfree"
examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf-nonfree.cz]
problem reading synthesis file of medium "plf-nonfree"
found 0 headers in cache
removing 0 obsolete headers in cache
wrote config file [/etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg]
unable to update medium "plf-nonfree"
I had a similar issue in SuSE 10.1 untill I tried installing the w32codecs and THEN installing kmplayer. When I installed the player afterword it worked out. Try that.
