I just installed 9.2 on my nForce2 chipset. I have just about everything setup, I think. I downloaded the kernel source and reconfigured it to work with the on-board nvidia drivers with the help of some of the posts I found in this forum. My only problem now is that I want to turn off the nvaudio support because I've disabled the on-board audio due to conflicts with my Audigy. I have no clue how to do this.. It's not giving me a whole lot of problems but it's trying to initialize at boot and failing, so I'd like to disable it. Anyone?

GRUB:
I downloaded the grub-0.93.src.rpm and I've been trying to configure it to work with graphics support and splashimage. I've downloaded the patches but I'm having trouble working with the SPEC file. I've add definitions for the patches, but when I use 'rpm -bb grub.spec' I get a %build error. I know that redhat has provided graphical support for grub since atleast 8.0 (i guess, since it's their default bootloader), but I was wondering if the bootloader is independent of the OS.. since it starts before Mandrake does anything. Is it possible to add graphical support, or should I just forget about the idea and go on with my nice cyan menu?

And lastly, my Audigy 2 Platinum eX doesn't provide an input for analog audio and since I've disabled onboard audio I don't have any available analog cd inputs. Audigy suggests that you 'enable digital audio playback' for CDs (which is an option supported with the newer microsoft OS's: Win2k and XP). I found a plugin for XMMS called cdread which is supposed to do the same kind of thing.. a sort of real-type rip/playback, i guess. I've downloaded the plugin and installed it, but I can't seem to get cds to play. I've disabled the other cd audio plug-in, but that didn't seem to help. Also, XMMS has been cutting out on playback and eventually dropping the left channel entirely.. I would think it's a driver problem or maybe even a problem with my soundcard, but playback is fine in any other program. Any Ideas?

i might be able to shed some light on a few things :|

XMMS:
it is a driver setting you need to configure, i think audigy 2 is the emu10k2 driver (im not entirely sure) but there should be some mixer setting for enabling digital cd input rather than analog input, as i dont have the card i am not sure but on the sb live alsamixer you can change the settings t read either analog or digital input from a CD.

nForce2:
have you looked in you /etc/modules.conf file for any references to the driver.
if there is a reference there to it just comment it out using a # or remove it and reboot and see if that stops it from trying to autoload.
