I recently installed Mandrake 10.1 Community and have not been able to get any of the networking to work at all. None of the distros have been able to detect my point-to-point LAN connection with a Dell Win2k system, although they have all been able to work with my NIC just fine. My main concern at the time is getting my PCI modem to work with Mandrake. I have already checked Google and posts on LQ and other various message boards , but nothing has helped. The modem worked great under Red Hat 9, Slackware 9.1, and Lindows 4.5, but for some reason I cannot get any of the Intel drivers to work on Mandrake. I have all of the drivers with MDK support and the most recent is the only one that even recognizes the kernel version (2.6.8), but it still won't compile. I checked linmodem for support, but nothing helped. I'm hoping that somebody here can help me with this. Any assistance would be appreciated.

My previous post was typed while hald asleep and I forgot to mention that when I tried to compile the driver for my modem, it said it could not find the autoconf.h files. I just saw on another forum that I am not the only one with this response so I would assume that it is from a common issue and easily taken care of? Maybe? Hopefully? Again, any help with this would be appreciated.

Nevermind. Intel released an updated driver and I am now surfing on my newly online Mandrake.
