installing program into mandrake 10.1


can sombody tell me how to install programs to mandrake..
i have download kazaa.. and when i click at the file exe. , its not automaticly install it..
it open a page that ask me which program to use...

and another one...
i want to download mp3 song...
that page want me to right click to the link and click save as <-- windows instructions..
how can i save this song using linux?

You know kazaa is not meant to work on Linux right. You can try to install it using WINE.

hi

First, under Linux , *.exe files doesn't work...because this is another kind of OS, so you have to download software made for linux, try to download rpm packages (*.i386.rpm) that means that are packages compiled for Intel 386 class processor, after downloaded try "rpm -Uvh name-i386.rpm" at the same directory.
But here the things not always go right, so, sometime you'll need to download a lot of things to make your program run.
Try to share mp3 with aMule.

the easiest way to install software in linux is to setup urpmi ( package manager ) by this site :

http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

then you will install the software from , mandrake control center -> software manager -> install software

as it will now connect to external repositories which contains alottt of softwares

if u want kazza then there is a program called apollon which connects to kazza , gnutella , openft

You can also install LimeWire for Linux or MLDonkey.
