Installation Troubles
Hey, everyone. My name is Christopher David Yudichak. I've been using Linux for a little while now. not long enough to know everything, but enough to use it rather well.
I've been experimenting with different distros and decided that I really like Mandrakelinux. So, I downloaded the ISOs (which, at the time, were Community). I burned them to discs and went to install. But, the installation froze when "Looking for available packages", a problem on which I saw a few previous posts. So, I tried everything mentioned in the posts, but still couldn't get it working. So I thought, just for fun, I'd try one of the other distros I had, but I couldn't get any of them to install for some reason. By now, I'm thinking that I must have some hardware trouble (even though I just recently had many other distros installed on this system) Anyway, I came back to the Internet and downloaded the Official ISOs, and everything seemed to be installing fine this time.
But, then, after choosing packages to install, I got a message:
"There was an error installing packages:
*name of package*
Go on anyway?"
So, I clicked "OK" just to get through it, but this message comes up for EVERY package.
Well, that's where I need some help. Anyone have any ideas what I can do about it? Or what is causing it? If you need more information about my setup and/or process, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Christopher David YUDICHAK
