I installed Mandriva2007 Free. I have a problem with player. It says "plugins missing". I installed Java, Flash Player, Real Player.
Is there anything else?
Thanks
Player?? I'm not familiar with that app! If you are referring to Mplayer or even Kmplayer you need to add the win32 (or w32) codec pack. I doubt you have your sources setup (see my signature below), you can download the package from the Mplayer website.
However to make life easier I would strongly suggest you setup your sources then you can use the commandline urpmi or the gui package manager to fetch and install packages for you.
I did upmi. Than I checked the Control Center and found out that there are over 200 updates available. So, I began updating. During installation I got a message like this one: suspend-scripts < 1.27 conflicts with inscripts-8.56.2mdv2007.1.i586
I suggest you put suspend-scripts into the /etc/urpmi/skip.list (edit) Just add the name to the list with a text editor, no version numbers are required.
That will stop that and allow further installs
I've been getting errors that initscripts is not the correct server size, so you may want to put that there too.
win32 codecs can be found in the plf repos. and it hasn't changed versions for a while.
You could just try typing at a console, urpmi win32-codecs.
hope this helps, Glenn

I made those changes in the /etc/urpmi/skip.list:
# Here you can specify the packages that won't be upgraded automatically
# for example, to exclude all apache packages :
# /^apache/
suspend-scripts
initscripts-8.51
Unfortunately it does not work:
There was a problem during the installation:
suspend-scripts < 1.27 conflicts with initscripts-8.51-6.2mdv2007.1.i586
rpmdrake < 3.26-1 conflicts with drakxtools-10.4.127-1mdv2007.1.i586

I typed at a console, urpmi win32-codecs and got the following:
[root@ urpmi]# urpmi win32-codecs
no package named win32-codecs
[root@ urpmi]#
Set up the plf Media Sources (and if you have not done so) and all the official Internet Software Media Sources by following the direction at Easy URPMI.
