help! only fluxbox starts

okay, i tried installing FluxBox 1.1.14 first from tar.gz, and that didn't work.

so then went with the 0.1.12 rpm version.

Now, if i choose a different WM, it still launched FluxBox??

I've tried uninstalling the rpm via rpm -e fluxbox-0.1.12-mdk.i586.rpm and i get that it's not currently installed. then if i try rpm -i fluxbox-0.1.12-mdk.i5a8.rpm, it says it's already installed?!?

Any ideas? Mandrake 9.2

This system ran Mandrake + Flux just fine for a month, then i wanted to rebuild. now i've got this.

m'kay nevermind.

during my installs of the tar.gz version, it created /usr/local/bin (all files associated with fb). i removed fluxbox*, fluxbox-generate-menus* and fbrun*, and everything runs mostly fine now.

only other problem currently is the menus for my normal user account has VERY little on it, but i'll solve that.

the correct command would have been: rpm -e fluxbox

it will not recognise fluxbox-x.x.x-mdk.rpm for example.

to solve your menu problem, run this command as root: update-menus -v
