Hangs on Install & Error Message on Install... Help!!!

I've done everything necesary to ensure a good install, however, after I put the boot disc in and let it do the standard install, it hangs at the all text screen titled

Welcome to Mandrake 10.0 <time & date>

I thought to myself, no problem, its just hanging on hardware auto detect, so I reran the installion, this time with

However, when I try to install it with noauto parameter, an error message appears at the all text screen saying,

"2nd Stage Error Unable to uncompress RAM or something to that effect."

Then I have to reboot.

How can I fix this error?

I had a similar incident.. I discovered that my installation discs were corrupt.. Just check the discs (MD5) first...
