Hi

I tried to search for the similar problem but couldn't find anything so here it goes

I was trying to install GAIM 0.74 on my Mandrake 9.1 system using gaim-0.74-1.src.rpm file that I got from gaim.sourceforge.net using urpmi

# urpmi gaim-0.74-1.src.rpm

and so after all the dependecies were fulfiled the installation went the way it is suppose to no errors or anything but when I try to locate and run gaim I just couldn't find it even though I did the search using Konqueror but still couldn't find it

In the end I decided to try and install it again, so again

# urpmi gaim-0.74-1.src.rpm
The following packages have bad signatures: gaim-0.74-1.src.rpm
Do you want to continue installation ? (y/N)

I answered "y" and then it said "Everything is already installed"
Again I couldn't find it anywhere on my system

Can anyone tell me what is suppose to be wrong or how can I fix this problem? Or in worst case how could I uninstall this package and try with another version ?

its an src , meaning source rpm.
you will need to build ur package from it
do "rpmbuild --rebuild gaim-0.74-1.src.rpm" as root
U will have a package created in /usr/src/RPM/RPMS/i586 (mostly)
then install it.

thx vinay_s_s I didn't know about bulding packages

anyway I went to GAIM site again and this time got the RPM specifically for MDK, installed that one using URPMI and now it's working ....

1st time I went there there was only src file available ...
