errors with make xconfig

i'm trying to launch the xconfig menu of my mandrake 9.2 2.4 kernel
make menuconfig runs fine but make xconfig gives the following errors:
rm -f include/asm
( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm)
if [ -f .need_mrproper ]; then \
rm .need_mrproper; \
make mrproper; \
make preconfig; \
make -C scripts
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.22-10mdk/scripts'
cat >> ./
./tkparse < ../arch/i386/ >>
3rdparty/lufs/ 2: unknown command
make[1]: *** [] Error 1

make: *** [xconfig] Error 2
what is the problem here
