enter wep key....where??

I have an orinoco pc card I'm trying to set up to play nice with my wireless router...the mac address of the card is registered on my router, so that's fine.

However I have to put in the 128 bit encryption key (wep) and have it associate with my outgoing connection....

how to do this??

hmmm...no one has replied yet; I'm going to try to turn off encryption and see if this indeed is my issue with connecting.

dammit life sucks, my orinoco refuses to play well, and I will take a break now...

iwconfig ath0 key XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (the X's representing the key)

Put that line in a separate script, owned by root and chmod the script:
chmod 700 yourscript
Then only root can read it.

Call the hidden script from your startup script. This should work because the startup scripts have root access.
