Complications with mandriva contrl centre plus firefox problems

Firstly I have just installed mandriva 2007 and its been running ok.I decided to upgrade firefox to 2.0 Installed no problem till I tried to start firefox it would not start so reading posts and using google i have tried at different times the following "run-mozilla.sh" "ln -s libstdc++.so.6libstdc++.so.5 ln -s libstdc++.so.5 grep firefox and a few other things without success. I was happy to go on using firefox 1.5.7 until tonight while on the web i click on bookmarks and firefox disappeared it happen when I wrote this post on firefox when i clicked on check on message length, firefox disappeared. Iam using konqueror for this post. I decided to reinstall from the mandriva control centre started the control centre clicked on installed software it went off came back to start with no error messages so went to drakconf and the output was
root@localhost tewaru]# GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed at /usr/sbin/drakconf.real line 1471.
does anyone have any ideas of whats going on thanks in advance
Tewaru

Instead of messing around trying to create symlinks, install libstdc++5 using rpmdrake or doing
Code:
#urpmi libstdc++5
As for drakconf, I am not really sure. Have you upgraded anything recently?
