Command for starting Mandrake 10.1?

I've installed Mandrake 10.1 in my old laptop, everything alright until the booting process asked for login and password, which I entered, then I typed run, start, etc, etc. with no avail. Please... I NEED THE MAGIC WORD!

Thanks Glenn, the problem is now, that typing startx I've got ...
"XI0: fatal IO erro 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server" which looks more like an internet connection thread. Indeed Linux works in misterious ways!

I'm too newb for that one, try a repost with the line "XI0: fatal IO erro 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server"
as the title.

I'm sure someone will know how to fix it.
