Exclamation Can's see


I can't see, my pc boots goes through all the txt and says welcome to mandriva linux 10.2 thn the screen goes blank and on to standby,help why is it doing this, I am a complete and need serious help.

2.6cpu, 256mb ram, 80gig hdd, ati radeon 9200 128mb pci

As teh first step to debugging this problem see if you can get in through an alternate console. When the screen goes blank use the three finger command:
<Ctrl><Alt><F3>
to see if you can get a login prompt in alternate console 3. If you can, then login as root and we can proceed from there.

Thumbs down Not working

I have tried this but nothing happens, now before the screen goes blank there is a flash of multicolour at the bottom of the screen. Nothing happpens though .

Hmmm?

A freind told me at school that is might be something to do with my pc make, so here its a dell dimension 2400 (along with upgrades: dvd burner tv card and graphics card, ati radeon 9200se) but that surely shouldn't make a difference, after all the installation of linux was fine just not the running?

You might have luck reinstalling without video acceleration enabled (if you enabled it during this installation).
