Cable modem setup

Hi,
I am running Mandrake 10 and i have got a new cable modem ( Motorola Surfboard) which connects to my ethernet card. Mandrake is able to recognize the ethernet card and dmesg returned

eth0: Broadcom 4400 10/100BaseT Ethernet 00:0b:db:ba:26:2b

But i am not sure how to go about setting the internet connection by dhcp. I have the MAC address, Gateway, DNS server ip's got through my windows (dual boot). It would be really hepful if you could help me step by step in setting it up or point out where i can get some information to do it
thanks ---milir

Unhappy

Thanx for the reply, But i am not able to answer your question. It is an ethernet connection and hopefully should be a point to point protocol. The cable modem assigns a dynamic IP , i believe i should make the etho address point to the cable modem MAC address (which i am not sure how to? ) .and then what should i do , Should i start the dhcp manually or how do i connect? I am sure there is some simple way to do it in Mandrake 10 using the wizard, as there is a default cable connection type.

BTW who is your cable provider?
Have you tried using the configuration wizard in the Mandrake Control Center under networking. No guarantees if it will be successfull.
