Best way to upgrade Xorg?

What's the best way to update Xorg to at least 6.8.0? I used Mandrake Update yesterday but it is still 6.7.0!

I really need to get UT2k4 working in Linux with my Radeon 9000 but the ATI drivers require 6.8.0.

Any suggestions?

I am not a newbie, but I have trouble installing critical packages like that sometimes, especially from source.
