Where does one specify the font that is to be used by applications for their menu bar, menus, and other user interface elements on application windows (e.g., buttons, selection boxes, etc.)? I have found the KDE desktop font settings and the Konqueror settings (both as File Manager and Web browser) and set them as desired. It looks like most of the KDE applications obey those settings and use the Sans 9pt setting I have chosen. There are numerous other applications, however, that are using a much larger font; it appears to be Sans 12pt (or perhaps a Helvetica). Examples include the Mandrake Control Center and all of the OpenOffice.org applications.

Where and how do I tell all those other applications to use that same Sans 9pt font for all of their menus, etc.?

(I am running Mandrake 9.2, with all of the patches released to date through the Mandrake site, if that matters, along with the -5336 nVidia drivers. I'm really still just learning my way around, but am very impressed so far.)
